Transition Information Evening - Find out when, where and how

Transition Information Evenings

Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) information for parents and students.
An Information Evening is held to help alleviate some of the stresses and anxieties faced by our students by providing strategies to assist and build teamwork to develop this working relationship.

The first term of the TCE is always challenging for students due to the significant transition between Years 10 to 11. Parents of Year 11 students also experience the subsequent pressure that incurs on their son/daughter from the increased workload and the stress that emanates from this.

To assist with this a stronger, three way working relationship between parents, students and the school is vital so all have a clear and mutual understanding of the TCE, school requirements, expectations and what our senior students will be confronted with over the next two years.

The presentation includes:

  • Information on the TCE in depth to demonstrate the requirements, explain the final awards, assessment criteria, scores, ATAR, special provisions, university entrance and to try to eliminate any misconceptions thus far.
  • Strategies to help 'survive' the TCE.
  • Options beyond Year 12.
  • Presentations by other groups wherever possible. For example,in 2016, Elevate Education provided strategies and techniques on studying and exam preparation.

The evening will be in term 2 or 3 and lasts for approximately 2 hours with an opportunity for further discussions to be held after the presentation. As always, the college can be contacted at any time for more assistance.
