At St Brendan-Shaw College, French and Japanese students have the opportunity to travel abroad and broaden their knowledge of the language they are studying. These trips occur every year, one year catering for French students and the other Japanese. These trips are offered to students studying from Year 9-12 in the respective language.
Which students qualify to go?
Students qualify to go by studying Japanese or French. They MUST be a student of the language and it is open to students from Year 9-12.
How do you know you can go and it is on?
Students/families will be notified of the up coming trip via the school newsletter and during class discussions.
When do the trips occur?
The trips are during school holidays and normally run for 2 weeks. In 2015 students visited Japan. The next Japan trip will be in September 2017.
This is an example of an itinerary:
Tokyo (Disneyland, general sight seeing, Harajuku, school visit)
Kyoto (Kinkakuji, Nara, Nijo Castle, Kiyomizu Temple, Sanjusangendo Temple, Gion Historical District, bicycle tour)
Kanazawa (cultural program)
Hiroshima (Peace Park, Miyajima Island)
Osaka (Universal Studios)
