Students from Year 9 and 10 can put themselves up to be chosen to be a Sport Leader. Sport Leaders help out on carnivals and cross countries at primary schools but also on other events. This is a first step towards being a role model, learning leadership and responsibility in and outside the school.
In 2015 the Chess Club was held twice a week with up to 26 students participating. We attended three Regional tournaments with an average of 11 students competing. The tournament format operated under the Swiss-system which is a non-elimination, seven game format. Each student played against another student who was on a similar score and skill level with the winner scoring a point, the loser zero and a draw half a point.
