College Production

Every second year the College runs an elective subject called Production. As the name suggests the class rehearses and performs a major theatrical production. Previous shows have included Aladdin, Barnum, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. Rehearsals take place at the College but the season of performances are held at The Devonport Entertainment and Convention Centre. We usually perform two schools matinees and four general public shows. Whilst most rehearsals occur during class time a commitment to a week of rehearsals during the end of Term Two holidays is expected. The actual week of the performances is spent entirely at the Theatre. Previous Production students often refer to these as "the best two weeks of my life!" The class is open to Year 9-12 students. Clearly, some ability in acting, singing or dancing is an asset but we also welcome absolute beginners as long you bring enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to learn. So if you want to make a heap of new friends, learn some new skills, develop your self-confidence and have the time of your life, enrol in Production.
