College Production

Every second year the College runs the elective subject: Production.  Students who take this are part of the College's bienniel musical presentation.  Previous shows have included Oliver, Aladdin, Barnum, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.  In 2019, the College presented Chicago: High School Edition.

SBSC has gained a reputation for its professional, quality performances which showcase the talents of our students.  It provides valuable experience for those wishing to consider a career in the performing arts, with opportunities to develop their interests and skills in performance areas such as acting, singing, dancing and music.

Students are also able to develop skills in areas such as lighting, sound, make-up, costume, backstage management and event management.

Whilst most rehearsals occur during class time, a commitment to a week of rehearsals during the end of Term Two break is expected. The actual week of the performances is spent entirely at the Theatre. Previous Production students often refer to these as "the best two weeks of my life!".

Some ability in acting, singing or dancing is an asset but  absolute beginners are welcome as long they bring enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to learn.
